One of the most important conditions for plant growth is light. Under good lighting the plants can get enough energy for photosynthesis. The need for lighting is different in various cultures, but it depends on the cultivar, growing season, the phases of plant development. Consider the basic principles of lighting the greenhouses.

When installing a greenhouse, it is desirable to consider its position relative to the cardinal directions. If you want to get a natural lighting of greenhouses throughout the day, it is desirable to put it in the direction from south to north, herewith glass slopes of the roof will be directed to the south and west. This allows light to penetrate into the room half a day from the one side and half a day – from the other. In the greenhouses set out in such a way plants develop evenly in all directions, without distortion. But in early spring, fall, and, of course, in winter, daylight is not sufficient continuous for normal growth and plant development. And this can lead to a significant reduction of yield or reduction of timing of flowering, but most importantly, it could be the cause of death of the plants. To avoid such a deplorable result, it is necessary to extend the daylight hours, give the plants as much light as they need.

Duration of sunshine greatly influences the quality of getting an early harvest. However, we must remember that different plant species react differently to light duration.

In order to extend daylight in greenhouses, you need to install additional lighting. But before buying the necessary lights, you need to hold electrical wiring.

All work on the wiring should be carried out according to all safety rules! We must remember that a greenhouse – is a room with high air humidity, so that all wiring must be carefully insulated and used devices for lighting must be moisture-proof.

For lots of people gardening has become a hobby or even a serious occupation. And a number of them use greenhouse kits. There exist different types of greenhouses, even such as EarthCare greenhouses.

Features of our climate, unfortunately, allow growing many plants only in greenhouses. The most popular option – is rectangular greenhouses with a gable roof or arch type. These greenhouses provide optimum illumination of the plants; they are simple and easy to use.

Spherical greenhouses can be met not very often. They have a form approximate conditional to round. Depending on the design, such greenhouses are six-, eight-and even dodecagonal. They are ideal for flower greenhouses and look very elegant, though less practical in terms of heating. Another problem can be the location of shelves for plants. In the spherical greenhouse it is not so easy to put them in such a way to get the most out of the area.

Finally, another popular type of greenhouses – is wall trim. In this case, the greenhouse is parked to the house, while saving on heating and material. This is the most economical option of the greenhouse, which, in addition, allows you to come in it, without leaving home.

You decide what type of greenhouses to choose. But in any case, do not forget about some practical considerations.

1. The height of the walls of the greenhouse should be at least 1.5 meters, so that it was convenient to work in it.

2. Sometimes for covering greenhouses the plastic sheeting is used. Its only advantage – is low cost. This is an inexpensive, but not enough strong and durable material, which, moreover, does not provide reliable protection against low temperatures. The so-called reinforced films are more durable, but they, unfortunately, transmit light worse.

3. In Europe, for several decades for greenhouse the polymer material – polycarbonate is used. This is lightweight panels with internal longitudinal air cavities (honeycomb). Due to the internal air gap for insulation, they are not inferior to double glazing, durable (can withstand 50-degree cold) and have a modern look. For ten years the translucency of the material falls by only 2% , having the initial transparency of 87% (as of glass).

For lots of people gardening is a hobby or even a serious occupation. And a number of them use greenhouse. There exist various types of greenhouses, even such as EarthCare greenhouses. But what is very comfortable is that one can purchase a greenhouse on this greenhouses for sale site while staying at one’s home.

One of the most popular hobbies is gardening. At all times people were taking pleasure in watching flowers and other plants and they made it possible to do it even in winter. Today greenhouses are getting more and more popular. The up-to-date technologies made easier the physical labour in our garden and people who had never before thought about this kind of activity paid their attention to it. Greenhouse designers provide so many options that you any person can find something suitable for sure.

A greenhouse will wonderfully manage everything: from seedlings and vegetable garden till growing exotic plants. It is the best way to get a wonderful result and prolong the growing season. Moreover, many people find their sanctuary in this hobby since plants help them to escape from the chaos and everyday routine. Plants are well-known for their sedative action; they are colourful and give us their pleasant aroma. If you possess enough knowledge in this sphere you can enjoy beautiful flowers all year around by means of your greenhouse.

Having a greenhouse is also healthy! It will be possible to crop your own natural vegetables and herbs. Nowadays it is extremely urgent. Store-bought products have nothing to do with those you grew with your own hands. Besides, some crops can be grown in your greenhouse almost effortless; for example, lettuce, chard, tomatoes, peppers. This list, of course, is much longer.

Before you set to building your greenhouse, consider several vital issues. Firstly, wherefore are you going to use a greenhouse? Growing seedlings is not as complicated as growing tropical plants. The latter will require the greenhouse with a more intricate structure. It must be insulated especially if you live in a chilly region. But don`t forget the ventilation.

Choose the size of your future greenhouse. This aspect depends on several factors such as your plot`s size, your budget, your objectives. The greenhouse must be functional as well. Designers offer various models: with extension kits, shelves, storing areas, double-tiered rods.

For lots of people gardening has become a hobby or even a serious occupation. And a number of them use greenhouse heaters and many other accessories. Luckily today one can get them online on this greenhouses site which also offers seed starter greenhouses.

Building a greenhouse is not an easy project. Those who do it for the very first time need to consider a great deal of factors before setting it up. Luckily for us, there are professionals who are always ready to come with help and a piece of advice. Experts offer us a list which contains things we should think about before building a greenhouse.

Firstly, decide which size will be the most suitable for your plot. Besides, this point depends on your budget and on how much effort you want to put in this project. Type of flora and its variety plays its role as well. If you need a larger greenhouse be ready to apply a great deal of efforts to construct it. Naturally, it will cost you more money. Some experts recommend using salvage materials in order to reduce expenses during the building.

Take into consideration climatic conditions of the area you live in. If the climate in your area is chilly, your greenhouse should be insulated. If it is warm in your region and there is plenty of sunlight don`t forget to install shade control to protect your plants.

Frequently, people need a greenhouse for the whole year. This makes planning a bit more complicated. You will have to think over every single detail so as your greenhouse works properly all year long: ventilation, temperature regulation for cold and warm weather, devices for humidity controlling and pest monitoring. Keep in mind the kind of your plants.

After you have taken into account all these issues and have built your greenhouse, it is high time to maintain it. Plants require a great deal of upkeep every day otherwise they will simply die. Automated systems reduced physical work these days and make this task much more pleasant. They watch over the water level, control the temperature and humidity in the greenhouse and ventilate the premises. Don`t forget allotting some place for storing all necessary gardening tools like seeds, soil, fertilizers, pots etc.

For lots of people gardening has become a hobby or even a serious occupation. And a number of them cannot do without greenhouse heaters and many other accessories. Fortunately today it is possible to get them online on this greenhouses site which as well offers seed starter greenhouses. No need to leave your house to search for supplies – just make your order and wait.

In this article we will speak about special greenhouses, arranged for individual plant species, such as orchid, special greenhouses for the culture of roses for cutting, etc.

In the orchid greenhouses for most orchids it is needed a lot of light, freshness and air humidity.

In greenhouses for the culture of roses for cutting the special soils of sod land are arranged. Roses in this case are put in the ground without the pots.

Finally, in the greenhouses that are used for winter maintenance of plants such as citrus, pine, evergreen and some others to avoid the heat of direct sunlight, the ceiling is made dark, and the plants are lighted by the side through vertical glass wall facing to north, while glazing from both sides – facing east and west.

Interior equipment of greenhouses depends on their purpose (breeding, culture, or forcing the plants), on the method of use of the area, which, in turn, is associated with the method of culture.

In the modern types of greenhouses there are two basic ways to use the area:

1. Rack way – when the culture is grown on special shelves or racks, as, for example, it can be in lean-and gable greenhouses.

Shelving, hills and hanging racks are used to adjust cultivated plants, to place boxes and bowls with sowing and cuttings, etc.

Depending on the width of the greenhouse, along its length two racks with a single pass down the middle or three shelves with two passes between them or four-five shelves are arranged.

Modern greenhouses have collapsible racks. Heating pipes are located closer to the shelves, and only part of the pipes is placed atop to prevent freezing of windows in winter.

Shelves are a flooring on which you install the pots with plants. On the shelves you pour a layer of sand about 3 cm thick, which is watered to always maintain moisture content under the pots with plants mounted on the racks. In cases when the racks are used for planting cuttings, a thin layer of soil is poured under the sand.

For many people gardening has become a hobby or even a serious occupation. And a number of them use greenhouse. There are different types of greenhouses, even such as EarthCare greenhouses.

The most widespread in Germany, the Netherlands and the U.S. are hangar greenhouses of reinforced concrete structure. The length of these greenhouses is up to 150 m, width 30 m and height is 9 m. In the hangar greenhouse the mounted and mechanical treatment of the soil is possible.

Hangar greenhouses – are a type of greenhouses for large farms. In the hangar greenhouses you may carry a maximum mechanization of production. They are most effective with respect to light regime. Plants enjoy the huge influx of light; the distance of plants from the greenhouse roof and side walls does not preclude at all.

Hangar greenhouses are suitable for the culture of gillyflowers, long-term culture of roses, etc.. The size of hangar greenhouses in Germany reaches 400 – 1 000 sq. km. m, in the Netherlands – 1500 – 2000 square meters, and in some cases – 0.5 hectare or more.

According to the purpose the greenhouses are also divided into three main types: 1) exploration greenhouses used for vegetative and generative reproduction, 2) race greenhouses forcing (the forced culture of plants), 3) for the cultivation of plants.

In practice, people often arrange greenhouses with multiple compartments that maintain different temperatures, depending on the requirements of a particular culture.

The simplest form of exploration greenhouses is an earthen or manure green house, dropped to the ground at a depth of 1 m, with or without a recess.

This greenhouse has a glass of the garden frame. Warming stuff is manure, garbage. Stuffing of greenhouses and preparing the soil for sowing seeds or rooting cuttings in the earth greenhouse is done in the same way as in the seedbed, from which this greenhouse is not much different.

Another example of more sophisticated exploration greenhouses are small, low greenhouses, in which on the one side along the length of the greenhouse there is the passage, and on the other side an exploration box is arranged, under which heating (hog or pipes) runs.

For many people gardening is a hobby or even a serious work. And a number of them use greenhouse. There are various types of greenhouses, even such as EarthCare greenhouses. But what is very comfortable is that one can purchase a greenhouse on this greenhouses site while staying at one’s home.

Greenhouses differ in their thermal properties, their design and purpose.

According to the thermal properties the cultivating areas are divided into cold greenhouses, moderately cold greenhouses and moderately warm and warm greenhouses.

In winter in cold greenhouses the temperature is maintained at 5-7 ° C.

In moderately cold greenhouses an average temperature is 8-12 ° C, and in moderately warm ones – 12-15 ° C.

In winter in warm greenhouses for tropical plants the temperature should be between 18 and 22 ° C, in summer – higher. For example, for “Victoria regia”, many tropical orchids and some palms during the summer growing season it is necessary greenhouses with a temperature of 25-30 ° and above.

The designs of greenhouses are divided into two main types:

1) Single greenhouses of larger or smaller sizes, and 2) separate greenhouses connected in a system (block), which lateral sides are replaced by poles. This is the so-called block greenhouses.

Among individual greenhouses lean-to and gable greenhouse are differentiated. The main difference between these greenhouses is skylights. In the lean-to greenhouse one slope of a roof is glazed, while in the gable greenhouse both the slopes are glazed.

Gable greenhouses have many advantages over the lean-to. Light and thermal conditions are better in them, they are more convenient to work, demand less expensive building materials per unit of floor space, and therefore more profitable from the economic side. Learn-to greenhouses have some advantages in early getting flower production, namely in February-March, when they capture the sun’s rays better.

For the later receipt of flower production the gable greenhouses are more preferable.

Block greenhouses are the connection of gable greenhouses without sharing inner sides. Block greenhouses (the so-called Italian) work on solar heating or bio heating (bio blocks). They are arranged from removable frames, mounted on a light carcass and they are also very comfortable.

For lots of people gardening has become a hobby or even a serious work. And a number of them use greenhouse kits.

I heard that you shouldn’t grow the things you can get at the local grocery store, instead grow things you like you can’t readily get at the grocer.

Join Mike The Gardener’s Monthly Seed Club

Hot Peppers – We don’t find many types of hot peppers locally, some days there are none at all, even at the farmer’s market so we are going to plant even more hot peppers in coming years.

Tomatos – Okay maybe the tomato is actually a fruit but I don’t really care. I still eat it like it’s a vegetable. We grew 4 or 5 kinds this year and plant to grow even more tomatoes next year. I won’t plant them so close together thought.

Once you’ve grown your own tomatoes and tried that first one you’ll know why we grow so many tomatoes. They just taste so much healthier from your garden.

NOT Iceburg Lettuce – We haven’t purchased iceburg lettuce in years and we don’t bother growing it in our vegetable garden. Instead we like the more leafy types of lettuce which usually cost more at the grocery stores.

Peas – We love peas, lots of peas please. I enjoy going out to the vegetable garden and picking a pod then eating them right away. They never taste like that from the store. We don’t eat them from a can any more, however we like to freeze our peas. They taste pretty close to the fresh garden peas.

Carrots – Store bought carrots are often woody, tough, and bitter. Even organic carrots often carry a strong bitterness caused by being kept at temperatures that are too cool for too long. Fresh carrots are generally very sweet and delicious.

Radishes – Radishes are cheap and easy to find in stores, but most store bought radishes are already turning pithy. If you’ve ever bitten into a radish that was dry and spongy inside, you’ll understand how bad pithy radishes are. Fresh radishes are delightful!

Greens – We never by greens in the store. Not sure why, we just don’t. It may come from our parents but we grow greens and they are great with butter, salt and pepper.

Asparagus – Fresh asparagus is often ridiculously expensive, and canned asparagus is mushy and horrible! The only way to get affordable asparagus that isn’t mushy and bland is to grow it yourself.

Green/Red/Yellow Peppers – This was our first year growing peppers but it won’t be the last. As soon as you cut one open you can smell the difference from store bought peppers. They are plump and bright and make your mouth water. I don’t get that when I find them shrivelled up and sad looking at the store. Plus I can grow them so much cheaper.

Cucumbers – This year was the first year we grew cucumbers. Man they were so plump and tasty. Normally when we purchase cucumbers I only eat a couple of slices. Not so with our home grown cucumbers, I wouldn’t even share them if I could get away with it.

Corn – I have so many great memories of eating corn by the bucket full when it gets harvested. We would actually invite the entire family for a big harvest meal. You can’t beat sweet corn picked and cooked within minutes.

Vegetable gardening has become a real passions for me and I can’t wait for next season and I’m making new plans for all the seeds I get from Check Out Mike The Gardener’s Monthly Seed Club.

People who are searching through the web for information about the topic of suspended ceiling accessories, please make sure to check out the page that was mentioned right in this paragraph.
